Less than a month away from Christmas, and surrounded by the frenzy of my 3 children whom are so anxious to see Christmas arrive, I cannot help but to let in to my childhood instinct of wanting to decorate every room in my house in festive colours and garlands.
Although my décor is by no means either romantic or Shabby Chic in essence, I am very much inspired by the Holiday decoration this Swedish home adorns. Whites, silver and greens mingle in a clean and yet festive ensemble.
Often forgotten, the bedrooms are a MUST for me in terms of decorating. A simple wreath in the window, hung on a long and wide satin ribbon is a classic element that is current whatever your style.
A very contemporary table is elegant surrounded with victorian or Louis XVI chairs. Simple pinecones in a silver dish and chestnuts in a hurricane lamp are the only reminders of the festivities coming.
But it is the little girls room that is for me the show stopper of this house. The herringbone floor, the bed and play table painted in a soft grey (instead of the typical bubble gum pink) and the skirt suspension light are feminine and soft.
With these few inspiration sin mind, I will now go about my own decorating of our humble home… just in time for the snow to arrive and give it the final magical touch the season needs.
