I have been told this week that I have a style because someone saw something (decor related of course) and it made them think of me. Hummmm, have I really become so predictable? Should I try to go out on a tangent and surprise you or is “my style” good enough for you all, dear readers?
Well, today I decided to stray… not too far granted, but a little at least. I found this home and I fell in love with its stark white canvas. There is no question about the walls, ceiling, or floor colour here. I usually go for hits of bold colour but I love, just as much, the complete absence (or total presence if we speak in chromatic circles) of anything but white.
Takeaway ideas for me here are the introduction of vintage industrial elements alongside others that are devoid of flourish and sporting modern lines. Examples of that are the claw foot bath in the otherwise unadorned bathroom & the large safe used as an armoire in the living area.
Another one is the light! Did you notice that none of the windows have either drapes or blinds to filter their entering light? That inflow of white light accentuates further the feeling of openness give by the white rooms as well almost serves as “art” onto the bare walls as the colours lying outside the home come pouring in, naturally.
That kind of a home gets me going on a Monday morning, doesn’t it?
ciao ciao & until next time!
