I love a blank canvas on which to express one’s style. Whether through the use of colourful accessories or simply with the use of gorgeous salvaged architectural pieces, a white colour scheme does the trick.
My personal two cents on the matter: If you are to choose bare walls go for a white that has intent, not the contractor’s basic chalky white that is dull and mat.

Although some purists might argue with me about the “no-no” factor of painting antique furniture, I still believe that it is more current to paint furniture, even antiques, than to let them sit in the basement because they do not fit your style.
