Ever since I can remember … or close enough, I have been enamoured with Moroccan wedding blankets!
There is something decadent and luxurious about them and their folkloric appeal is undeniable to me.
The more ornate the better, I love them most when they are interlaced with mirrors and gilded accents. Anyone else share my passion for these heavenly throws?

I fell in love with them when I first saw them a couple of years ago and have almost all of these images saved to my Pinterest boards.
But wow, that one where they’re using it as a bathmat. Isn’t that rather offensive?
I mean, these are traditionally made items that are, in their culture expressive of familial love and hope and representative of wealth – and for we Westerners to take that tradition and use it as a bath mat or any kind of floor covering, really.
I mean, I know it’s not YOUR image, but I’m not comfortable with it. (My .12 cents – adjusted for inflation.) ;)
