Trends come and go… and come again. After a few years of stark colour contrasts, or the lack thereof, we now see the runways filled once more with pretty pastels. Muted or sorbet, soft and feminine, pastels are a great way to freshen up a room, any room. Fashion designer and boutique owner Chay Wike’s Hollywood Hills home is just that, natural and muted, with bright pops of soft colours here and there to wake the interest. Nothing too sweet or syrupy anywhere in sight, just a gorgeous bright home with hints of the Californian landscape colours that I love so much.
In the girl’s bedroom, fun pops of colour and abundant natural light create a whimsical, and yet very modern, room. How cute are the papier-maché animal heads hung high on the wall? Some of the other items that I love are: the tassel garland (a little girl’s classic must-have in my book), a blue and white embroidered sheet set paired with a floral duvet on a crisp white spooled bed … of course. :)
With all the animals in the room I would have added a couple of woodland crochet bins for good measure, but that’s just me.
