Here is a project for revamping a room in a weekend. Maybe it is the “gentle rebel” in me, but I have always loved the work of graffiti artists. Not the taggers that write their initials on highway overpasses; what I love are the artists that have the ability to create giant frescos unto vertical, uneven walls, and yet that are able to keep proportions in check to render beautiful urban artwork. Well, let’s improvise ourselves graffiti artists for a moment and liven up the bare walls of a room, any room.
This trend is nothing new, it’s been around for a while, but what we’ve seen more of lately is the abstract forms painted directly, in broad strokes, all over the room, instead of having these beautiful calligraphy pieces done in chalk onto a determined chalkboard portion of the wall.
What do you think of this trend? Would you dare to try it at home?
