Marriages, even in interior design, are not always happy. Sometimes, despite the homeowners best attempt at blending the old and the new, the result is just a hodge lodge of styles that do not mesh well. The home that follows is just the opposite!
This classic 19th Century Brooklyn (Cobble Hill to be exact) brownstone underwent a major overhaul that brought it into the 21st Century without stripping is of its charm and character. The architectural details are highlighted either in bold black or stripped back fro their cosmetic coverings to reveal their authentic and “rough” nature – as the exposed beams in the family room attest.
Vast windows (read 20 foot) were added to the back of the building to make the kitchen a true focal point of the residence. All in all, this home is just pure perfection. Kudos Elizabeth Roberts & team!
