Are you most likely to remember a white or beige monochrome room that screams &#8220;I played it safe&#8221;? Or will you reminisce about that room that you may not have loved 100%, but that was daring and made a bold statement?<\/p>\n<p>If you answered the beige room, you may want to stop reading right now, because this post is about bold statements: the rooms that didn&#8217;t play it safe, the ones that shock or surprise you.<\/p>\n<p>I have had the immense chance to attend the <a href=\"https:\/\/mom.maison-objet.com\/en\/products?q=&amp;idx=Product&amp;p=0&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B0%5D=COOK%20%26%20SHARE&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B1%5D=CRAFT&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B10%5D=SMART%20GIFT&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B11%5D=TODAY&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B12%5D=TODAY%20SIGNATURE&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B13%5D=UNIQUE%20%26%20ECLECTIC&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B14%5D=UNIQUE%20%26%20ECLECTIC%20SIGNATURE&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B2%5D=FASHION%20ACCESSORIES&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B3%5D=FOREVER&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B4%5D=FOREVER%20SIGNATURE&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B5%5D=FOREVER%20SIGNATURE%20PROJETS&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B6%5D=HOME%20ACCESSORIES&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B7%5D=HOME%20FRAGRANCES&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B8%5D=HOME%20LINEN&amp;dFR%5Bsector%5D%5B9%5D=KIDS%20%26%20FAMILY\">Paris Maison &amp; Objet<\/a> show in January and I came back with my head spinning from all the colour and bold accents I saw there. Held twice a year, in September and January, the show is the vastest in all of Europe for everything from furnishings, to plumbing to accessories. While it may be scary to pick a pink floral sofa instead of a brown leather one, it&#8217;s what you make with it that will make or break a room. Items in themselves are not necessarily outdated or old fashioned. Get show stopping art. Whether others like it is irrelevant if you love it. One thing is for sure, it won&#8217;t leave people indifferent. Add pops of neon. Either on your walls or in smaller accents like pillows, neon will definitely add an impact. I love doors and trims in a neon color. Go monochrome. This can be a little hard to master but it basically involves doing an entire room in one color or variants of it. White, beige and other neutrals don&#8217;t count. I&#8217;m talking a bold lavender, blue, pink, whatever tickles your fancy. Go crazy in a small space. If you&#8217;re still not convinced about going bold, test it in a smaller space like a bathroom or even a closet. A closet is actually a great place to test wallpaper.
