Some people find seasonal holidays overrated and commercial, focused solely on selling trinkets and abundant meals, but I am of those that like the annual reminder of values and people that are dear to my heart. As we celebrate our Canadian Thanksgiving today I count my blessings and all the love that come my way.
Here are 10 things that are worth being thankful for
My family, always. Don’t worry, I have long ago removed the rose coloured glasses of maternity. I see it clearly for what it is, a lot of work, permanent under eyes circles and not a lot of time to myself, but yet it is my greatest accomplishment and source of happiness.
I have an assumed sweet tooth that feels very thankful when munching on some Pumpkin donuts served in some pretty serving plates. It’s first level alright, but it never deceives.
Drink a Pumpkin pie milkshake (yup that’s right, a pie with a straw!)
Go for long walks in the woods – to burn off some of the aforementioned deliciousnesses.
Take an obscene number of photos of leaves changing colours, and of my kids frolicking in them.
Enjoy every minute of my favorite season, before winter knocks at our doors.
Then, snuggle on the couch wrapped in the coziest blanket e.v.e.r.
Continue to work on my wardrobe to build on cozy and elegant pieces that I will keep for a long time. Here are some inspirations.
Play around with my home to make it cozy for fall again and while at it maybe bring in a few of these 9 fall trends.
And finally, last but far from least, every single one of you that have assiduously read the blog, watched the tv show or bought my book, over the past 8 years. You keep me going and fuel my creativity. Merci.
